PROGRAMS
Academic Programs
The CTEF Bachelor degree program is a five year program that comprises the following levels of study:
Year One - Certificate Level (III & IV)
Students must successfully complete this level of study for eligibility into a Bachelors degree program with CTEF.
Year Two - Diploma Level
This level of study constitutes the first year of Bachelors degree level of study.
Year Three - Bachelors Degree Level
Year Four - Bachelors Degree Level (final year of on-campus training)
Year Five - Bachelors Degree (final year of the program through internship and thesis completion).
Students successfully completing the requirements for the academic year and wishing henceforth to discontinue their study with CTEF will be awarded with the qualification respective to that level of attainment.
CERTIFICATE III IN BIBLICAL STUDIES (C3BS01)
The purpose of this course is to provide an introductory knowledge of Biblical and Church concepts, and to prepare learners for Greek studies, for those preparing for Christian work in their local church and the community at large who have completed Year 12 (Form 6) or an equivalent. The Certificate III in Biblical Studies is targeted to the student’s needs by:
Introducing language and writing skills to enable further study
Providing students with practical exercises to enhance theoretical learning
Providing an overview of the entire Bible
Providing an overview of the development of the Church in biblical history
Laying the foundations for personal evangelism
Establishing an enduring framework of personal spiritual growth
Upon completion of this course the graduates will be serving as associate pastors, teachers, evangelists, as well as other areas of Christian work in their respective local churches and communities at large.
CERTIFICATE IV IN BIBLICAL STUDIES (C4BS01)
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an introductory knowledge of New Testament Greek, the fundamentals of Christian doctrine, the historical and contemporary background of Church missions, an overview of the Old Testament, and greater ability in devotional methods. The Certificate IV in Biblical Studies is targeted to student’s needs by:
Introducing the alphabet, inflexions, and word forms in New Testament Greek
Explaining the forces driving the formation of Christian doctrines
Detailing the historical development and focus of Church missions through the ages
Examining each book of the Old Testament to discover its authorship, occasion, time, and purpose in the Bible
Fostering an enduring framework of personal spiritual growth
Upon completion of this course the graduates will be serving as associate pastors, teachers, evangelists, as well as other areas of Christian work in their respective local churches and communities at large.
BACHELOR OF ARTS IN BIBLICAL STUDIES (B7BS01)
The purpose of the Bachelor of Arts program in Biblical Studies is to provide the student with a high level of competency in Biblical, theological and practical skills for Christian ministry. This degree also provides the student with a foundational step toward further studies in a graduate seminary program. Students successfully completing this degree will be equipped to continue their study or apply for ministerial positions in the local church, with mission or other parachurch organizations. The degree also allows the student the opportunity to further pursue a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies. The Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies is targeted to the student’s need by:
Providing a comprehensive and in-depth study of the sixty-six books of the entire Bible.
Providing the student with a doctrinal, practical and personal foundation for ministry.
Developing research and analytical skills at the undergraduate level necessary for the ministry or further biblical studies.
Providing a foundational understanding of and ability to use biblical linguistics for preaching and teaching.
Developing communication skills as required in the ministry.
Assisting the student in developing a biblical worldview and lifestyle.
Developing a commitment to lifelong learning, growth and ministry.
Upon successful completion of this program graduates will be serving as preachers, teachers, evangelists, pastors or chaplains among other areas of Christian work.
BACHELOR OF ARTS IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (B7CE01)
The Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education provides students with a tailor made education that allows students to gain and develop effective communication knowledge and skill, leadership principles and practices, curriculum development and administration in the various areas of Christian education (youth, children and adult), as well as the spiritual growth process. In addition to this those graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education will have the necessary foundation for the development of educational material and human resources in the local church. The degree also allows the student the opportunity to further pursue a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education.
The student will gain a Biblically-based Christian world-view in the areas of leadership, teaching, administration, spiritual growth and small group development.
The student will gain an in-depth understanding through theory and practice of effective educational principles and practices as well as the development of material with this end in mind.
The student will be able to identify and implement key elements necessary for personal growth through critical reflection from scholarly resources, self assessment and peer-evaluation in academic activities.
The student will demonstrate the basic principles and practices of biblical leadership and education, to be implemented in life and ministry.
Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will be serving as preachers, evangelists, pastors or chaplains among other areas of Christian work.
BACHELOR OF DIVINITY (B7BD01)
The purpose of the Bachelor of Divinity program is to provide students with a thorough grounding in biblical studies (New and Old Testament), church history, pastoral theology, with special emphasis on biblical languages and systematic theology. The Bachelor of Divinity degree also provides graduates with the opportunity to proceed into pastoral ministry or other areas of ministerial service in the local church, work with a mission or parachurch organization, or unto a Master of Theology degree. The Bachelor of Divinity program is targeted to the student’s needs by:

MASTER OF ARTS IN BIBLICAL STUDIES
The Master of Arts in Biblical Studies is a modular programme conducted under the auspices of the Evangel Christian University of America. The purpose of this programme is to provide pastors and Christian leaders who are already in the ministry with a higher theological degree to enhance their ministry skills. Graduates who hold a Bachelors degree, either with CTEF or another institute and have served for at least two years in Christian ministry will be eligible to apply for the Master of Arts Program in Biblical Studies.
